Meet Martina, an organizational psychologist who joined our team less than a year ago. She made a significant impact on our company’s work culture and employee well-being. With her passion for creating positive workplace environments, Martina carefully but surely transforms our organization, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and employee satisfaction.
Martina has a master’s degree in Psychology and in parallel with work in Evona, she is educated at the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Sarajevo. Martina can be described as having a cheerful, enthusiastic spirit, and possessing the ability to listen to others. Furthermore, her love for nature and hiking is a prominent aspect of her personality.
What Martina says about her previous job experiences
Having the opportunity to work with people with dementia and their families at the Center, along with other elderly people in the nursery home was one of the most rewarding things that she’d ever done. Old folks are no different in their personalities, sense of humor, strengths, and weaknesses than anyone else you may know. They are people who haven’t changed on the inside but need a little help for the outside this is what applies everywhere. As Martina said: “Not a day went by that I didn’t almost pee my pants from laughing with those “over the hill” remnants of the past. I have learned valuable lessons by listening to the stories of their lives (and really they had good ones).
Meet Martina outside of Evona and her passion for hiking
Martina’s passion for hiking began completely spontaneously. She decided to try her in first hiking route even though she had been told that she wouldn’t succeed but it was more challenging for her 😊 From the moment Martina set foot on the trail, she was captivated by the beauty of nature surrounding her. The tranquility, fresh air, and breathtaking landscapes deeply resonated with her.
As Martina continued hiking, she discovered that it not only provided her with physical exercise but also served as a form of mental and emotional rejuvenation and moving her own boundaries.
Her vision for Evona
As a psychologist, my vision for our company is to create a workplace environment that prioritizes the mental health and well-being of our employees. I believe that a psychologically healthy workplace not only benefits the individuals within the organization but also contributes to the overall success and productivity of the company. First and foremost, I envision fostering a culture of open communication and emotional support. This means creating a safe space where employees feel comfortable discussing their feelings, challenges, and personal development. But it is a long process – the same as conquering mountain tops. It takes a lot of effort and persistence to get where you want to go but it is important to keep the right track.
