Hi Evona team, let us skip to the good part and get introduced to Ilhan. Even though he is no longer a college freshman, Ilhan is on a fresh start on our team. In Herzegovina there is a saying that describes a diligent young person – „he/she studies and works“ – and that is part of why Ilhan´s parents and our team are proud of this young man. But let´s hear it from Ilhan.
So Ilhan, can you please give us a quick resume about yourself? What are the key points about you that we should know?
As you have mentioned, my name is Ilhan Nezirić, a 23-year-old student of software engineering in the Faculty of Information Technologies at the University of Mostar. Currently 4th grade in the DL (distance learning) program. Originally from Jablanica, a small city north of Mostar, but currently, due to the newly created circumstances, living, working, and studying in Mostar. My study program allows me to do it simultaneously, which is an opportunity I wouldn´t miss out on.
Can you tell us how did you end up in Evona?
There was a post on the social network about Evona Hackathon 2022 so I decided to grab a chance and send my application. Previously I had heard about it from a colleague of mine, Tarik, who had a great Evona Hackathon experience the previous year.
My application was accepted and the rest is history. Those were the sleepless nights at Hackathon, but great teamwork made it happen and in the end, it was worth it. My team, Mirror effect, won and I was offered an opportunity for a full-time internship which I have accepted.
And how do you find it here?
I am glad that my first serious working experience happened at Evona. This is a specific working environment with its dynamic energy; flaccid and furious at the same time. But things get done here, requiring a lot of learning and effort. It puts you before the challenge but never leaves you on your own. Some senior colleagues are always willing to help with a piece of constructive advice.
I am grateful for this opportunity and I hope I will make the best of it.
